ABOUT ME

PD Janzen (Pattie) began storytelling in Grade Three when she captivated her class, and school assemblies, with her humorous retelling of fairy tales and creative stories she’d spin at the spur of the moment. In her senior year of high school, her Language Arts teacher told her that she’d be wasting her time if she pursued her dream to become a nurse, and suggested she consider journalism/writing as a wiser career choice.
Thinking only of her aforementioned goal, Pattie did obtain her RN, but while enjoying that profession for over 38 years, she also wrote and directed numerous Christmas plays for churches she attended with her husband and children.
In 2000, she was first published as a humour columnist and enjoyed writing ‘Laugh at Life’ columns for many years. In 2021, near the end of her nursing career, she typed out her first faith-based novel. This, and two others, were accepted for publication and were released that same year.
Since then, she’s written and published even more, and she hopes God will allow her to continue these endeavours. She enjoys her family, playing piano and singing, melding her humour and faith in the speaking engagements she feels honoured to have, and recently lending a hand to other writers who wish to have their dreams of publication come true.
She is incredibly thankful for every person who reads anything she writes!
"I strive to be
someone of substance
but I struggle often."
